Hail Mary, full of grace, pray for us! During the months of August and September we have some very beautiful feasts of Our Lady— Assumption, Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Sorrows, to name a few feast days. We ask Mary, first disciple, to help us to be disciples of the good news of her Son, Jesus. Family Life Ministry has been about this good news in many ways.
Respect Life Kits will be arriving by bulk permit and addressed to the parish by mid-September.Please be on the lookout for them. This will be the last year that Family Life Ministry will be picking up the expense for these kits and sending them to the parishes. Each parish may wish to order its own kit, which can be obtained in Spanish and in English.Kits are available this year online through USCCB Pro Life Secretariat, due to a backlog of Kit deliveries. While Respect Life Sunday is October 7, 2012, the material can be used throughout the year, as well as during the time of the Walks and March for Life in 2013.
One of the many highlights of the Conference was when each Director received one of the first copies of the Rite for the Blessing of a Child in the Womb, which may be offered within the context of the Mass, but also outside the Mass as well.
Sr. Joanne and several leaders at St. Mary’s Church in Visalia have already met several times in preparation for the Bishop’s 2013 February Annual Anniversary Mass of Married Couples.
