Pilgrimage is a part of every Holy Year, to whatever shrine you travel. The process of setting out, walking or traveling, visiting a shrine and returning home is the same whether you pass through the Holy Door at the Papal Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican or a church across town. The process of pilgrimage represents the journey each of us makes in this life. We are all pilgrims together, accompanying each other in our walk to our final destination, and Jesus walks with us all on that road.
Our pilgrimage this year should lead us to conversion of life. Together, let us find the strength to embrace God’s mercy and dedicate ourselves to being merciful with others as the Father has been with us.
