Celebrating the Year of Faith / School of Ministries
Welcome to the new beginning of classes in our New Wine/Vino Nuevo formation programs! I invite everyone to experience this year of study and pastoral practice as a sign of our faith.
The start of the Year of Faith to which we are invited by Pope Benedict XVI is broad and deep in meaning. First, as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Second Vatican Council — a very significant event for the Church with implications of change and transformation that we are still understanding. Second, because the promises and challenges of the new reality of the 21st century — we are facing new questions that demand new answers.
We can walk together in this spirit bearing witness to our faith as we study; we dialogue, share and perform pastoral ministries and projects in our diocese and parish communities.
Vino Nuevo / New Wine Year III
: We continue to develop the pastoral projects and finalizing personal interviews with counselors. Keep in mind especially the retreat day (October 20) in Three Rivers.
Vino Nuevo / New Wine II:
In the beginning of the second year, we will be guided by the motto: communion in mission, the way the U.S. Bishops have defined the pastoral concerns or collaboration.
We welcome Edith Maldonado as bilingual assistant in the School of Ministries. Pray for her and for all those who in various ways are collaborating in the formation of Catholic leadership for a New Evangelization.
