I have been involved with faith based Health Ministry since the mid-1990’s with the Bay Area Health Ministry and went through the training for Parish Nursing under the direction of Silvia Miller, RN, DNP, in 1996. I worked with Kaweah Delta District Hospital in their Community Outreach for Interfaith development of Parish Nursing in Tulare County. I worked with Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in providing Parish Nursing for their congregation from 1996 to 2002.
In 2005, I moved to Sonoma County and worked with the congregation of Saint Philip the Apostle and Saint Teresa’s Catholic Churches in providing Parish Nursing services, such as Health Fairs, annual flu vaccine program and home visitation to those requesting counsel. I coordinated working with the nurses in the parishes that wanted to participate in this ministry.
My work background includes working in psychiatric nursing, medical surgical nursing, and adult critical care, as an RN. As a Nurse Practitioner, I have worked with adult trauma services, Emergency Room Care and Family Practice settings. I worked as Full time faculty in Santa Rosa Junior College’s Registered Nursing program for 10 years and worked at a health clinic part time in Occidental, California, prior to returning to Clovis in 2015. I currently am employed working at Peachwood and at Community Medical Provider’s Urgent Care’s.
I am honored and blessed to be of service to this Parish Ministry.
