The Catechetical Corner: Be Grateful and Prepared (ENG/ESP)

Brothers and Sisters in Christ I hope that you find yourselves well and in good spirits. I know that the catechetical programs for many are in full swing but coming towards its half-way point before the winter break but in anticipation of what’s to come in the new year after break is over. Every year as new catechetical programs restart; we are given a new opportunity by our Lord to serve His people and share our faith with those that He sends us and at the same time learn a little bit more of our selves as we continue in our own faith journey. It is my hope that all the catechetical programs within our diocese had a successful beginning and that those that we catechize are benefitting from our teaching, guidance and faith sharing.

For those that may have not gotten off to the start they had hoped for within their ministries I pray that you strive to push yourselves beyond what you feel might be your limitations and ask the Lord for guidance and strength to do so. Always remember that in this journey of faith and service within ministry we’re never alone and even though things may seem increasingly challenging and impossible at times do not waiver in your faith and belief that our Lord is with you always along with the community of the faithful. Trust in the Lord with all your hearts, on your own intelligence rely not; in all your ways be mindful of Him, and He will make straight your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6, New American Bible). For the Lord gives wisdom, from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. (Proverbs 2:6, NAB).

As we just experienced the season of grace and thanksgiving let us give thanks for this new season of Advent that is upon us and as we look forward to the celebration of Christmas once again renew ourselves in our commitment to catechize with compassion, enthusiasm and a heart devoted to ministry and service to those that strive to learn about their faith through us and our Lord’s guidance. Let us prepare ourselves in this time of Advent both spiritually and personally as we await the coming celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and renew our commitment and dedication to our ministries and those that depend on us. Let us give thanks and be appreciative of the blessings we have been granted and also take the opportunity to share those blessings with those that are most near and dear to us.

May this holiday season be a joyous gathering of friends and loved ones filled with blessings and good spirits and may the new year that is right around the corner be filled with a renewed sense of spirit and devotion in your communities and within your families. Giving thanks always and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father. (Ephesians 5:20, NAB)

El rincón catequético: Sé agradecido y preparado

Hermanos y hermanas en Cristo, espero que se encuentren bien y de buen humor. Sé que los programas de catequesis para muchos están en pleno apogeo, pero llegando a su punto medio antes de las vacaciones de invierno, pero en anticipación de lo que vendrá en el nuevo año después de que terminen las vacaciones. Cada año, a medida que se reinician nuevos programas catequéticos; nuestro Señor nos da una nueva oportunidad de servir a su pueblo y compartir nuestra fe con aquellos que nos envía y al mismo tiempo aprender un poco más de nosotros mismos a medida que continuamos en nuestro propio camino de fe. Espero que todos los programas de catequesis dentro de nuestra diócesis hayan tenido un comienzo exitoso y que aquellos que catequizamos se beneficien de nuestra enseñanza, guía y compartimiento de la fe.

Para aquellos que tal vez no hayan comenzado lo que esperaban dentro de sus ministerios, les pido que se esfuercen en tomar los pasos más allá de lo que sienten que podrían ser sus limitaciones y pidan al Señor guía y fortaleza para hacerlo. Recuerden siempre que en este camino de fe y servicio dentro del ministerio nunca estamos solos y, aunque las cosas puedan parecer cada vez más desafiantes e imposibles a veces, no renuncien a su fe y creencia de que nuestro Señor está con ustedes siempre junto con la comunidad de los fieles. Confía plenamente en el Señor y no te fíes de tu inteligencia. Cuenta con él en todos tus caminos y él dirigirá tus senderos. (Proverbios 3:5-6). Porque el Señor concede la sabiduría y de su boca salen el saber y la prudencia; (Proverbios 2:6)

Como acabamos de experimentar la temporada de agradecimiento y acción de gracias, demos gracias por esta nueva temporada de Adviento que está sobre nosotros y mientras esperamos la celebración de la Navidad una vez más renovemos nuestro compromiso de catequizar con compasión, entusiasmo y un corazón dedicado al ministerio y al servicio a aquellos que se esfuerzan por aprender sobre su fe a través de nosotros y la guía de nuestro Señor. Preparémonos en este tiempo de Adviento, tanto espiritual como personalmente, mientras esperamos la celebración del nacimiento de nuestro Señor Jesucristo y renovemos nuestro compromiso y dedicación a nuestros ministerios y a aquellos que dependen de nosotros. Demos gracias y apreciemos las bendiciones que se nos han concedido y también aprovechemos la oportunidad para compartir esas bendiciones con aquellos que son más cercanos y queridos para nosotros.

Que esta temporada navideña sea una reunión alegre de amigos y seres queridos llenos de bendiciones y buenos espíritus y que el nuevo año que está a la vuelta de la esquina esté lleno de un renovado sentido de espíritu y devoción en sus comunidades y dentro de sus familias, dando gracias siempre y por todo a Dios Padre en el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
