The Catechetical Corner: Eucharistic Revival - Parish Phase (ENG/ESP)

As we get closer to the second phase of the National Eucharistic Revival, which starts on June 11, 2023, hopefully point persons for their parish have at least begun to put their team together and a plan to get started in creating, adapting, or even continuing events that will support in the process of bringing their parishioners together for moments of faith sharing, community building, and adoration of the Eucharist. We ourselves here at the Office of Formation and Evangelization have already offered 8 orientation sessions in which we guided parish point persons on the resources that are available and how to implement them in the activities and events that take place in their parish and will continue to support those that need it.

The National Eucharistic Revival is a movement of Catholics, each responding to the gift of the Eucharist in their own way. “The three-year initiative is sponsored by the Bishops of the United States to inspire and prepare the People of God for a renewed encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist – the source and summit of our Catholic faith.” It is a call and challenge for every Catholic to rekindle the fire of love and devotion to the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus. This Eucharistic movement seeks to bring together clergy, religious, laity, apostolic movements, and parish and diocesan leaders to stimulate momentum, collaboration, and renewal of the Catholic Church in the United States.

Phase one started last year on June 19 and it focused on the Diocesan level in which diocesan staff, bishops, and priests were invited to respond to the Lord’s personal invitation to be equipped to share their love with the faithful through Eucharistic congresses and events.

Phase two will focus on fostering Eucharistic devotion at the parish level, strengthening our liturgical life through faithful celebration of the Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, missions, resources, preaching, and parish events which will run from June 11, 2023 to July 17, 2024 in which the third phase, the National Phase, will take place in Indianapolis, Indiana July 17 - 21, 2024 in which it is expected that more than 80,000 Catholics of all ages will gather to reconsecrate their hearts to the source and summit of our faith.

One of the most flexible aspects of this process, especially at the parish level, is that the resources available, such as printed material and videos, can be used as is or adapted to fit the needs of each individual parish depending on the needs that the parish teams recognize in their communities.

But the most important thing to remember about this movement, as we participate fully in what our parishes offer, is that Jesus wants to be close to us and intimately united with us. He desires it so much that he gives himself, Body, Blood, and Divinity, in the Eucharist. Through the Eucharistic Revival we can be given a renewed opportunity to be covered again by His love for us and His gift of Himself to us. So, my brothers and sisters in Christ, through this process, the revival begins with each one of us. Jesus wants to revive us with his presence in our lives. We must draw near to Him in prayer and through the sacraments to experience His grace and presence in our lives. El Rincón Catequético: Avivamiento Eucarístico - Fase Parroquial

A medida que nos acercamos a la segunda fase del Avivamiento Eucarístico Nacional, que comienza el 11 de junio de 2023, esperamos que las personas señaladas para sus parroquias al menos hayan comenzado a juntar sus equipos y establecido un plan para comenzar a crear, adaptar o incluso continuar eventos que apoyen en el proceso de reunir a sus feligreses para momentos de compartir la fe, convivencias comunitarias, y adoración de la Eucaristía. Nosotros mismos aquí en la Oficina de Formación y Evangelización ya hemos ofrecido 8 sesiones de orientación en las que guiamos a las personas de punto parroquial sobre los recursos disponibles y cómo implementarlos en las actividades y eventos que tendrán lugar en sus parroquias y continuaremos apoyando a aquellos que lo necesitan.

El Avivamiento Eucarístico Nacional es un movimiento de católicos, cada uno respondiendo al don de la Eucaristía a su manera. "La iniciativa de tres años es patrocinada por los obispos de los Estados Unidos para inspirar y preparar al Pueblo de Dios para un encuentro renovado con Jesús en la Eucaristía, la fuente y la cumbre de nuestra fe católica". Es un llamado y un desafío para cada católico para reavivar el fuego del amor y la devoción al Corazón Eucarístico de Jesús. Este movimiento Eucarístico busca reunir a cleros, religiosos, laicos, movimientos apostólicos y líderes parroquiales y diocesanos para estimular el impulso, la colaboración y la renovación de la Iglesia Católica en los Estados Unidos.

La primera fase comenzó el año pasado, el 19 de junio, y se centró en el nivel diocesano en el que se invitó al personal diocesano, obispos y sacerdotes a responder a la invitación personal del Señor de estar equipados para compartir su amor con los fieles a través de congresos y eventos Eucarísticos.

La segunda fase se centrará en fomentar la devoción Eucarística a nivel parroquial, fortaleciendo nuestra vida litúrgica a través de la celebración fiel de la Misa, la Adoración Eucarística, las misiones, los recursos, la predicación y los eventos parroquiales que se llevarán a cabo del 11 de junio de 2023 al 17 de julio de 2024 en los que la tercera fase, la Fase Nacional, tendrá lugar en Indianápolis, Indiana en el 2024 en el que se espera que más de 80,000 católicos de todas las edades se reúnan para volver a consagrar sus corazones a la fuente y cumbre de nuestra fe.

Uno de los aspectos más flexibles de este proceso, especialmente a nivel parroquial, es que los recursos disponibles, como material que se puede imprimir y videos, pueden usarse tal cual o adaptarse para satisfacer las necesidades de cada parroquia individual dependiendo de las necesidades que los equipos parroquiales reconozcan en sus comunidades.

Pero lo más importante que hay que recordar sobre este movimiento, al participar plenamente en lo que ofrecen nuestras parroquias, es que Jesús quiere estar cerca de nosotros e íntimamente unido a nosotros. Lo desea tanto que se da a sí mismo, Cuerpo, Sangre y Divinidad, en la Eucaristía. A través del avivamiento eucarístico se nos puede dar una oportunidad renovada de ser cubiertos nuevamente por su amor por nosotros y su don de sí mismo a nosotros. Entonces, mis hermanos y hermanas en Cristo, a través de este proceso, el avivamiento comienza con cada uno de nosotros. Jesús quiere revivirnos con su presencia en nuestras vidas. Debemos acercarnos a Él en oración y a través de los sacramentos para experimentar Su gracia y presencia en nuestras vidas. Que los eventos que se lleguen a llevar a cabo en sus parroquias sean momentos fructíferos para ustedes y sus familias.
