All those whose ministry or job involves interacting with minors must be fingerprinted and participate in a Safe Environment training course every five years. The course teaches individuals how to recognize, prevent and report suspected abuse prior to beginning their employment or volunteer work.
As a result of the diligent work and dedication of our staff and clergy who actively participate in the Safe Environment program, new cases of sexual abuse are rare today in the Diocese of Fresno. Yet, we remain steadfast in our commitment to protect children, report allegations and remove perpetrators from ministry.

As we join together in this effort to project our Children and Young People, we will be able to provide a safe, nurturing environment where they may feel secure as they learn and experience the loving presence of our God.
