RED MASS October 21, 2022 at 12:10 p.m. St. John’s Cathedral, Fresno
A Red Mass is celebrated annually in the Catholic Church for judges, attorneys, law school professors, students, and government officials. The Mass requests guidance from the Holy Spirit for all who seek justice.
In the 1970s the Central Valley Red Mass was held at St. John’s Cathedral and was presided over by then Monsignor Roger Mahony who is now the Cardinal Roger Mahony Archbishop of Los Angeles, Retired.
For unknown reasons the Red Mass was no longer held for many years until it was restarted by us along with our committee in 1996.
This year’s Red Mass will be presided over by Bishop Joseph V. Brennan and will begin promptly at 12:10 p.m. and end no later than 12:45 p.m. A complimentary catered lunch will be provided at Singleton Hall.
Everyone is invited!
