KNXT Shutting Down Broadcasting June 30

June 18, 2020

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

It is with a great sense of urgency that I reach out to you. As you may recall, in 2017 our diocesan television station, KNXT, entered into a partnership with Catholic TV Boston (CTV). Unfortunately, KNXT will no longer be able to sustain its cost of operation and will be shutting down its broadcast on June 30, 2020. HOWEVER, with your help we can continue to receive Catholic programming by way of Catholic TV Fresno.

Please take the time to contact your cable/satellite provider and tell them you want to continue to receive Catholic TV Fresno. You can either call them, write them, or send in a postcard that you can find at all parishes. You can do all three if you like. We would also ask that you call your local senator, congressman, and/or representative to let them know that you want to continue to receive Catholic TV Fresno during these difficult times.

Here are the phone numbers for your local senators and representatives:

  • US Congressman, Jim Costa (Fresno): 559-495-1620
  • US Congressman, Kevin McCarthy (Bakersfield): 661-637-1620
  • US Congressman, TJ Cox (Bakersfield): 661:864-7736
  • State Senator, Melissa Hurtado (Fresno): 559-264-3070
  • Assembly Member, Dr Joaquin Arambula: 559-445-5532
  • US Representative, Devin Nunes: 559-773-3861

It is very hard to say ‘goodbye’ to KNXT. It has been such a presence and a blessing through the years. It has been even more of a blessing during this time of pandemic. The timing of such a change is never good or easy. The Diocese simply cannot sustain the operations. This makes your appeal to the providers and politicians even more important. So, help us to continue to bring the Daily Mass, Rosary and other inspiring 24/7 Catholic programming into your home and the homes of hundreds of thousands of others in our beautiful Diocese through Catholic TV Fresno. It is only with your help that we can make that happen. Thank you, and God bless you!

In Christ,

Most Reverend Joseph V. Brennan, D.D. Bishop, Diocese of Fresno
